Weight Gain

I had my first doctor's appointment yesterday and I haven't gained any weight yet. Happy day! I know I shouldn't have gained any weight at ten weeks along, but the only time I feel good is when I eat. So I'm eating far too often! Luckily, I can't eat sugar (makes me more sick) so at least I've eliminated the chocolate and ice cream consumption.

Do any of you have a goal to lose weight this new year? Even though I always tell myself that the scale doesn't matter and the only important thing is how I feel and how I fit in my clothes I still monitor that darn number on the scale. It is good to know if you're getting too far away from your happy number. Luckily for me, the scale is completely unimportant this year (as long as I don't break 200 pounds, which I did with my second son).

My goals this year are:

#1 - Have a healthy baby

#2 - Enjoy my wild boys and sweetheart

#3 - Polish and submit two novels (before the baby comes)

#4 - Serve More

I'm so proud of myself for finally writing some goals down. I'd love to hear your goals.

  2. Thanks, Roxy! I keep craving gingerbread cookies, which is odd because I can't stand sugar. I'll have to whip some up this weekend. Thanks for the tip!

  3. Cami, congrats on your pregnancy! One of my goals this year is to be honest with myself. I'm good about being honest with others, but I make excuses for myself or engage in distorted thinking -- especially as it applies to eating.

In other news, I'm getting excited about introducing you at the Friends of the Library annual meeting. I'll peruse your blog profile for information, use a little of my own knowledge, but if there's anything you'd like me to mention that not on-line, drop me an e-mail (hansenchristie@yahoo.com) or call me.

    See you soon!

  4. Thanks, Christie. We are very excited!
That's a good point about being honest. I'm only honest when I make myself write down everything I eat. Takes the fun right out of life, but it helps!
I'll have to think if there's anything else. Thanks for inviting me to speak and introducing me. It should be fun!

  5. Cami-Congratulations on your pregnancy! I had not heard that info. through the grapevine, yet. I am so happy for you. I also wanted to tell you that Scott and I have been faithfully going to the weight room since you came and helped us figure out some good things to try! Thanks again.

  6. Thanks, Toni! We're very thrilled. You've probably noticed that I haven't been at the weight room. I've been lucky to make it a couple times a week. Sleep is definitely taking priority!
Great job on the lifting. I hope you find it as helpful as I do.
