Honey, Do You Need a Ride? Confessions of a Fat Runner - Book Giveaway

HONEY, DO YOU NEED A RIDE? CONFESSIONS OF A FAT RUNNER is a hilarious memoir of what it’s like to run with the gazelles when your shadow looks more like a walrus, and how running can get you through divorce, runaway donkeys, single motherhood, and size 14 jeans that won’t zip.
“Jennifer Graham tells our story beautifully, with unflinching honesty and laugh-out-loud humor,” John “the Penguin” Bingham said. And Kristin Armstrong, Runner’s World columnist and author of Mile Markers, says of HONEY, DO YOU NEED A RIDE? CONFESSIONS OF A FAT RUNNER, “Jennifer writes like an old friend speaks, in a voice you know and love. Her descriptions of running heavy, whether with added weight or added burdens, makes her experience universal to runners and non-runners alike.”

Running Home Release - Dead Running Free

Running Home is now available! To celebrate the release, the first book in the series, Dead Running, is free until Saturday, April 20th. Dying to Run and Running Home are only $.99.

In Cassidy’s battle against human trafficking there are two choices: run or be captured.
Cassidy's humanitarian mission takes an ugly turn when human traffickers attack. Cassidy doesn’t know where to run—home to America, into Jesse’s arms, or any direction she can to escape the traffickers. Innocent families are being ripped apart and Cassidy must decide if she’s brave enough to stop running and join the fight.

"Cami Checketts has done it again! Running Home is fast-paced and action packed with enough romantic moments to satisfy any romance junkie. It's a wonderful third installment of the Run series and a really fun read.”
Rachael Anderson, Author of The Reluctant Bachelorette

Cassidy Christensen wants to run.
Captured by the traffickers who killed her mother, Cassidy's only hope is Dr. Tattoo, a man she loves but nobody trusts. When she finally gets a chance to run, someone else she cares about is taken. Running might be her only chance at survival, but Cassidy won't allow another family member to be killed in her place.

Cassidy Christensen is running.
Running from the mercenaries who killed her parents.
Running from a scheming redhead intent on making her life miserable.
Running from painful memories that sabotage her dreams of happiness.
With two very tempting men competing for her attention, she hopes she'll finally have someone to run to, but can she trust either of them? When secrets from her past threaten her family, Cassidy decides to stop running and fight for her future.

"Dead Running was everything I was hoping it would be, captivating, invigorating, and a page turner that I could not, would not, put down! Cami Checketts writes books that will make you think, and make you feel. She captivated me with The Sister Pact, and doesn't lose speed with her newest 'must read', Dead Running."
Sheila DeChantal, Book Reviewer - Book Journey

"Dead Running can make a claim not many mystery/thrillers can, and that is that it is also really funny. I loved everything about the book. There was murder, romance, family bonds, 5K training, humor, good guys, bad guys, and an ending that left room for a sequel."

Stop Dieting and Start Losing Weight - Book Review and Giveaway

Step off the diet rollercoaster and start your journey to a healthy, happy life.
Stop searching for a magic pill or gimmick. Let Stop Dieting and Start Losing Weight help you identify your own personal arsenal of weight-loss tools that truly work for you.
This sensibly simple technique changes your relationship with food and fitness as you experience permanent, transformative results.
Building on four core principles, this book offers all the tools you need to reach your goal weight and stay there for good.

My Review:
I've read more books on healthy eating, lifestyle, and exercise than anyone should and I will tell you that Jen's is one of the best I've found. I love her practical approach to smart weight loss that is long-term. This book is not going to help you lose ten pounds in two weeks (hate when I see that scam, excuse me, claim), but Stop Dieting and Start Losing Weight is going to give you realistic, smart tools that will help you feel good and look good for life. I'm a huge fan of this book and would recommend it anyone and everyone.

The Chocolate Diet

Prevention Magazine posted a cute article saying those who eat chocolate a couple times a week have a lower BMI than those who don't and the chocolate eaters actually consume more calories. Chocolate (in moderation) really does help your metabolism. Love it!

Breaking out of the Winter Blahs

I keep watching for the snow to melt and praying I can keep a good attitude until it does!
Au Pair Care had a great article on how to beat the winter blahs.
The boys and I are turning the music loud and dancing and popping lots of Vitamin D pills to get through this winter.
How do you keep yourself happy when it's depressing outside?

Quitter

This morning was my last class at Smithfield Rec. I feel sad to leave those cute ladies, but I am just going too fast and in too many directions. Do any of you feel like you just have to slow down or you're going to miss out on the important things?

Here is the fun workout we did.

Plate push across the gym floor, run stairs, calf raises (40), push plate back, up the stairs backwards
Plie holding plate (25-35 pound plates)
Frontal raise with plate
Lunges across gym and back (we did knee up going and glute press coming)
Pullup and pushup (12-20 of each)

Repeat through entire workout 4 times.
