My Review:

There's a wealth of information in this book. It's pretty smooth reading, not like you're reading a textbook, which I always appreciate. I learned some new things (which honestly is amazing as my degree is in exercise science and I worked in the fitness industry for ten years). I did feel like the nutrition aspect was a bit more extreme than I am willing to be, but I really enjoyed the positive thinking aspects of the book.

Timothy stuck to her side while people surged passed with compliments, hand squeezes, and the occasional hug. Emmy searched every eye, but only saw excitement from a fun performance or weariness from sitting too long. If anyone had murder in mind, he was as good at putting on a fake face as she was. 

No one piqued her curiosity. Until he came. She had no clue what his name was, but the past few weeks she’d seen him almost every morning at the gym. He was much too good-looking, with his rippling muscles and deep blue eyes. Range of Motion

I read a great tip in Prevention magazine about range of motion. It explained that if you perform the full range of motion with each move, especially going beyond ninety degree angles on lower body you will lose more weight and gain more strength than even using heavier weights could accomplish. Just another reason to slow down and do the move correctly rather than quickly.

I spoke to a group of women a few weeks ago about healthy living and how it could influence our spirituality and improve our lives. It hit me how important it is for us to realize that yes, we should take care of our health and make sure to exercise, sleep, and try to eat healthy. But we should also realize that we don't have to be perfect and being healthy is just one aspect of our lives. I really hope that every woman understands that we can all be beautiful in our own way just by being the best we can be and keeping a smile on our face. Beauty isn't perfection. It's taking care of yourself, feeling good about yourself, and using that confidence to reach out and help and love others.
